Who We Are

The CFFC is a nonprofit dedicated to building a community for atheists, agnostics, humanists, and others who value reason and compassion as guiding principles. For almost 13 years, we’ve championed separation of church and state, hosted gatherings that spark curiosity and connection, and showed up for our community through service projects, outreach, and advocacy. We’re powered almost entirely by volunteers who care deeply about making Central Florida kinder, fairer, and more informed. If you enjoy working in a place where evidence and human-centered values guide decisions, rather than religious doctrine, you’ll feel right at home here.

Why This Role Matters

This position is the beating heart of our organization. We’re a small nonprofit with a big mission and a Board that handles strategy and governance. What we need now is someone who can turn all that goodwill into organized, consistent action. The good news: we’ve secured stable funding for this role and the tools needed to make work smoother, so you won’t be fighting uphill to get basic resources. If you love details, people, creativity, and purpose-driven work, you’ll thrive here. This is also an ideal opportunity for someone building their nonprofit career—someone eager to grow, test their ideas, and take on real responsibility in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the person who makes the mission real day-to-day. You’ll keep us organized, improve on and build effective processes, support volunteer hosts, coordinate programs with them, communicate with donors, and keep all the moving parts moving. You’ll also help us lay the groundwork for some ambitious plans already in development—we’re ready to grow, and we want your fingerprints on that growth. You won’t be buried under layers of bureaucracy, and you won’t be managing staff—you’ll work closely with your supervisor and our volunteer teams to keep our momentum strong.

The Kind of Person Who Succeeds Here

You’re motivated by impact rather than job titles. You like figuring things out. You enjoy building order out of chaos in a way that feels natural, not rigid. You can spot a missed deadline before it slips, and you like being the one who gently nudges the team back on track. You value relationships and know how to make people feel included and appreciated. You’re equally comfortable sending donor thank you messages, organizing files, sketching out better ways to run recurring tasks, and learning new digital tools—we’ll provide the platforms and subscriptions you need to make your work efficient, not frustrating. Best of all, we’re flexible about availability. Some needs of your time are fixed, but most are not.

What You Don’t Need

A specific degree. Ten years of leadership experience. A resume full of corporate jargon. If you’ve volunteered, worked in a nonprofit, organized community projects, or simply know how to run things efficiently and care deeply about meaningful work, you’re exactly who we want to hear from. We care far more about your drive, your reliability, and your willingness to learn than your academic background or credentials. If you want to pursue nonprofit leadership or management certificates, we’ll help you make it happen.

What You Will Get

A role where your ideas matter immediately. A Board that listens. A mission you can help shape with your own hands. The satisfaction of knowing you’re the one turning community energy into real outcomes for a more equitable Central Florida. Enough structure to guide you, enough flexibility for you to build systems that work better, and enough financial support to give you proper tools and tech instead of duct tape solutions. You’ll be joining us at a pivotal moment in our growth, with plenty of room to influence the direction we take. We’re excited about where we’re headed, and we’re ready for someone who wants to bring their ideas to the table from day one.
